The Necessity of Chess

It is a game played between two players. Chess was known as ‘Chaturanga’ in earlier times. Chess finds its origins form India. Its concept spread throughout the entire world by the Persian traders. Today, chess is played globally with people devoting their life towards chess, they understand the necessity of chess and how to improve their game. Life is pretty much like a game of chess. Every person has their own chessboard. And you’re up against all the problems in your life. You don’t always make the first move. Problems usually come at your door. You have your own core values that would help you to fight off those problems.

Chess – Best Board Game

The world is full of a lot of violence, greed, madness, and sorrows but don’t you ever forget that you possess hope, love, courage, and most importantly you. You are the king of your chess. You only make one move but it can be in any direction. You choose the shape of your life. In chess, every move you make plays an important part later. There are some moves by your opponent that might take down your pawns but you can always move from a chessmate to winning the game. Strategy and hope is all you need to win at any game of chess. Chess can only truly survive among the hearts of the wise and mindful. That’s why chess has been given plenty of recognition in history. In ancient times, chess was to be played with real people. I think chess personifies life and how calculated you need to be but it is not always expected and you may find yourself defeated so many times. But you need to take help of your pawns which are hope and love and use them and take over the game and not let your opponent win. Don’t let greed, dishonesty take over your life. 

Chess, a Fun Game

Apart from your life, chess is a pretty fun game as well. It teaches you a lot of lessons and how one single move can turn around the whole game. Ancient chess players have written plenty of books about the same. Chess will teach them that they have a choice of distancing themselves from their agony through healthy means such as chess or unhealthy escapes like drugs and alcohol. Chess will improve executive functioning. According to the National Center for Learning Disabilities, “Executive function is a set of mental processes that helps connect past experience with present action.

Final Thought

People use it to perform activities such as planning, organizing, strategizing, paying attention to and remembering details, and managing time and space.” Chess allows children to practice all the facets of executive functioning and provides a motivation (winning) to engage in all these facets. Therefore kids who have difficulty with executive functioning will increase these skills
